Responsible Play

Playing Responsibly

We want The Kitchen Draw to stay fun, fair and exciting. Our competitions are designed for your enjoyment – not as a way for you to make money. While paid-entry competitions aren’t classed as gambling when a free-entry route is provided, it’s still important to stay in control of how much time and money you spend. Responsible play means having fun while keeping a healthy balance.

Our Approach

Responsible play starts with transparency. We clearly display entry options and prices, total tickets and volume sold (so you know your odds now and if the draw sells out), prize RRP, competition rules, and draw details on every competition page.

We also provide tools to help you stay in control, including spending history, limit-setting, and self-exclusion if you ever need a break. You an also suspend or close your account by emailing us at [email protected]

Tips for Staying in Control

A few simple ways to keep things fun and manageable:

  • Set a budget before entering and stick to it
  • Keep track of how much you spend and how often you enter
  • Don’t chase losses or try to win back previous entries
  • Take breaks if you’re frustrated or spending more than planned
  • Play for enjoyment, not as a way to make money or escape worries
  • Talk to someone you trust if you’re worried about your participation

If the fun ever fades or you feel things are getting out of hand, take a step back and reach out for support.

How We Support Responsible Play

We take our social responsibility seriously and follow the guidance of the Gambling Commission, GambleAware, and GamCare. We do this by:

  • Providing clear, transparent information about entry costs and odds
  • Offering easy access to your entry and spending history via your account
  • Allowing you to set limits or request time-outs and self-exclusion
  • Promoting links to trusted support organisations
  • Responding to all queries quickly and professionally
  • Avoiding any misleading or pressuring marketing tactics
  • Being open about who runs The Kitchen Draw and how to contact us

From 1st April 2026 we have also been partnering with OneID to verify that players are 18 or over before they can enter our competitions. By 20 May 2026 we will be fully compliant with the Voluntary Code of Good Practice for Prize Draw Operators.

Spend Limits and Lockouts

Customers can set spend limits and account lockouts through their Account on the website. These tools are provided to support responsible play and help customers manage and control their participation.

Spend limits can be applied on a daily, weekly, monthly or annual basis and apply to all entries, including those made using Website Credit. Reducing a spend limit takes effect immediately.

Account lockouts allow customers to take a break from participation. While an account is locked, customers will not be able to enter any competitions, including free-to-enter draws, until the selected lockout period has fully ended.

Requests to increase or remove a spend limit, or to shorten or remove an account lockout, cannot be actioned immediately. Any such request must be submitted to [email protected] and will be subject to a mandatory 14 full calendar day cooling-off period. The requested change will only take effect after 14 complete days have passed.

During the cooling-off period, customers may cancel their request at any time. If a request is cancelled, the existing limit or lockout will remain in place and no further requests to change that control may be made for a minimum period of two months.

This approach ensures that spend limits and lockouts remain meaningful, are not changed impulsively, and continue to support responsible play.

In the rare event of a verified technical error in the application of a spend limit or lockout, we may investigate and correct the issue. Requests based on a change of mind or misunderstanding cannot be actioned outside of the process described above.

Suspending or Permanently Closing Your Account

If you wish to suspend your account for 6 months or more (including suppressing any marketing communications), or permanently close your account, please email us at [email protected] and we will action your request.

Under 18s and Vulnerable Players

Our competitions are strictly for players aged 18 and over. If you believe someone under 18 or a vulnerable person is taking part, please let us know immediately – we’ll act quickly to investigate and help.

Other support services exist that may be able to offer support to players experiencing harm as a result of gambling or prize draw participation

Final Word

Our goal is to keep The Kitchen Draw a place for enjoyment, not stress. If you ever feel participation is becoming more of a habit than a bit of fun, pause and reset. Remember – it’s meant to be light-hearted entertainment, not something that causes worry.
