Description
The Celestron 114LCM is a powerful Newtonian reflector with a 114mm aperture, providing enough light-gathering power to reveal the craters of the Moon, the moons of Jupiter, and even distant star clusters in crisp detail. The “LCM” stands for Lightweight Computerised Mount, and it is specifically designed to be the ultimate portable entry point into the hobby. It is light enough to carry to a dark-sky site in one hand but powerful enough to offer a serious window into the cosmos.
The star of the show is Celestron’s legendary SkyAlign technology. You don’t need to know the name of a single star to get started; simply point the telescope at any three bright objects in the sky, and the internal computer builds a map of the heavens. Once aligned, the hand control gives you access to a database of over 4,000 celestial objects. Simply select a planet or nebula, and the high-precision motors will automatically slew the telescope to the target and track it as the Earth rotates, ensuring your view stays perfectly centred.
It comes with a sturdy, pre-assembled aluminium tripod and two eyepieces (25mm and 9mm), making it a truly “grab-and-go” system for the budding astronomer who wants to spend more time observing and less time faffing with star charts.
