Our Commitment to Safe and Fair Play
Version 1.0; 03 April 2026
At The Kitchen Draw, we want every participant to enjoy our prize draws responsibly. We have voluntarily signed up to the Code of Conduct for Prize Draw Operators, which ensures we meet high standards of player protection, transparency, and accountability.
1. Player Protections
Age Restrictions (Clause 1.1)
You must be 18 years or older to participate. We use OneID to verify the age of every player before they can enter a draw (including free entries). Our advertising is strictly controlled to ensure it is not visible to, or targeted at, anyone under 18.
Complaints (Clause 1.2)
You can access our Complaints Policy here.
Spending Controls (Clauses 1.3 & 1.4)
We empower you to manage your spending:
- Limits: You can set daily, weekly, or monthly spend limits within your Account Settings. You can set your limit to £0 at any time.
- Credit Cards: To prevent financial harm, we will cease accepting credit card payments from 20th May 2026.
Taking a Break (Clause 1.5)
If you need a time-out, we offer two primary tools:
- Pause: A “pause” button allows you to lock your account for a specified duration (e.g., one week).
- Self-Exclusion: You can suspend your account for a minimum of 6 months. During this period, you cannot enter draws, and we will remove you from all marketing lists. To suspend your account please email us at [email protected] and we will action the request.
Monitoring & Intervention (Clauses 1.6 & 1.7)
We actively monitor for signs of potential harm, including erratic spend patterns, frequent use of multiple payment methods, or failed transactions. If we identify a risk, we will take a tailored approach to support you, which may include direct contact or, in significant cases, preventing further participation to ensure your wellbeing.
Signposting Available Support (Clause 1.8)
Our Responsible Play page, which is linked in the header menu of our website, includes information on available support.
Time Between Draws Opening and Closing (Clause 1.9)
A minimum period of 80 hours elapses between our prizes draws opening and concluding, and a maximum of 128 hours, ensuring players do not feel pressured to enter due to a small window, but also do not find themselves returning to re-enter due to a draw being open for excessive periods of time.
Instant Win Draws (Clause 1.10)
Please note that The Kitchen Draw does not operate instant win prize draws. All our draws are conducted via a scheduled process using a random number generator to draw winners.
Marketing Standards (Clause 1.11)
Our marketing is conducted in accordance with the CAP code. We promise that our advertising will never suggest that prize draws are an “escape” from personal or professional problems, nor will we ever imply that winning is a solution to financial concerns or a way to achieve financial security. All online advertising has controls in place to restrict visibility to audiences 18 and over only.
2. Transparency & Fairness
Fair Selection (Clauses 2.1 & 2.2)
Every draw is conducted with total integrity.
- Prizes are awarded in accordance with the laws of chance.
- We use a verified independent process (Google’s random number generator) to ensure results are truly random.
- Every entry – whether paid or free – has an exactly equal chance of winning.
Every prize draw includes an explanation of how it will be conducted as well as relevant rules and game mechanics.
Clear Information (Clause 2.3)
Before you enter, we provide clear information on the maximum number of tickets available for that draw and the current volume of entries available/allocated, so you can make an informed decision about your participation.
Free Entry Route (Clause 2.4)
We provide a clear, fair, and non-discriminatory free entry route via post for every draw that has a paid entry route. Instructions are easily found on each draw page. We ensure that free entries are processed with the same care and speed as paid entries, provided they are received before the draw closes and adhere to our T&Cs.
We never price our paid entry route below 99p, ensuring that the price of a stamp if you use the free entry route is less than the cost of using the paid entry route.
Promptness and Integrity (2.5)
- No Changes: We never change the closing date or time of a draw, regardless of how many tickets are sold.
- Prompt Delivery: Winners are contacted within a day of the draw taking place. Prizes are sent promptly via courier (or digital transfer where applicable, i.e. vouchers and cash prizes).
No Cash Alternatives: To maintain the integrity of our prize draws, we do not offer cash alternatives; winners receive the specific prize advertised.
Charitable Contributions (2.6)
When we make a charitable contribution as part of a prize draw (e.g. where charitable contributions are a percentage of sales or profits) we ensure that clear and accurate information is published to outline clearly the parameters surrounding these contributions.
3. Accountability
Ongoing Compliance (Clause 3.1)
Internal compliance reviews are conducted on a regular basis to ensure ongoing adherence to the Code. Where inadequacies are identified, immediate corrective actions are documented and implemented.
Partner Compliance (Clause 3.2)
We only work with reputable third-party partners (such as payment gateways and developers) who agree to uphold the standards set out in this Code.
Industry Collaboration (Clauses 3.3 & 3.5)
We are committed to sharing best practices with other operators and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) to help make the prize draw industry safer for everyone.
