At The Kitchen Draw we want entering our competitions to be enjoyable, fair, and something you feel fully in control of. That’s why we’ve introduced a range of spend controls and account lock options giving customers practical tools to manage how and when they take part.
These controls are part of our wider commitment to responsible play. They’re designed to help you make considered decisions, avoid impulsive spending, and take a break if you feel you need one.
How to set spend limits
On your Account page (you need to be logged in) there is a section on the left called “Spending Limits”. Here you can set a maximum amount you want to be able to spend over a chosen period. You can apply limits per day, week, month or year. Spend limits apply to all entries, including those made using Account Funds.
If you decide a limit is too high (i.e. it allows you to spend too much) you can reduce it at any time and the change will take effect immediately.
Changing or removing a spend limit
If you wish to increase or remove a spend limit, you’ll need to contact our support email address ([email protected]). To ensure these controls remain meaningful, changes of this kind don’t happen straight away.
Any request to increase or remove a spend limit is subject to a 14 full calendar day cooling-off period. This means the change will only take effect once 14 complete days have passed, giving you time to reflect on your decision.
You can cancel your request at any point during the cooling-off period. If you do, your existing limit will remain in place and further changes won’t be possible for a minimum of two months.
Taking a break with an account lock
If you feel you need time away from entering competitions, you can lock your account for a period of your choice. While your account is locked, you won’t be able to enter any competitions, including free-to-enter draws.
Account locks are designed to give you a genuine pause from participation. If you request to shorten or remove a lock early, the same 14-day cooling-off period applies, with the same safeguards in place.
Why we do this
Spend limits and account locks are there to support responsible play and help customers stay in control over time, not just in the moment. By adding a cooling-off period and clear rules around changes, we make sure these tools genuinely work as intended.
If you ever believe a limit or lock has been applied due to a technical error, our support team can review this for you. Outside of that, changes are handled consistently and fairly for everyone.
